O Eternal Father, God of promise and radiant light, on this Second Sunday of Lent, we stand in awe before the mystery of Your Son’s Transfiguration, where the veil of ordinary flesh is lifted to reveal divine glory. You called Abram from his homeland, kindred, and father’s house to a land You would show him, promising blessing for all nations through his obedience and faith. Abram went forth at seventy-five, trusting Your word alone. In the Second Letter to Timothy, Paul urges us not to be ashamed of the Gospel’s testimony, but to bear hardship with the power of God, who saved us and called us with a holy vocation—not by our works, but by grace given in Christ before time began. Then, on the high mountain, Jesus took Peter, James, and John apart. His face shone like the sun, His clothes became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared in glory, conversing with Him. A bright cloud overshadowed them, and Your voice from heaven declared: “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” The disciples fell prostrate in fear, yet Jesus touched them, saying, “Rise, and do not be afraid.” Lord Jesus, transfigured Light, strengthen us in this Lenten journey. Like Abram, grant us courage to leave behind comfort for Your call. Like the apostles, let us listen to Your voice amid fear and uncertainty. May Your glory sustain us through the Cross to Easter joy. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who pondered these mysteries in her heart, and all the saints who followed Your path of obedience, transform us into Your likeness, that we may shine with Your light in a darkened world. We ask this through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
