We’ve spent three videos trying to truly understand what goes into getting the nuts and saddles on our acoustic guitars performing the best that they can. We’ve talked about different materials, how to cut a bone nut and saddle by hand, the right way to raise or lower a nut, and how to dial in the perfect action on your guitar to optimize the playability. We can finally listen to a side-by-side-by-side comparison of the different materials to see if we can hear a difference. But before we can hear those sound samples, we still need to talk about finalizing the setup on the guitar. We show how we go through the steps of the T.R.A.I.N. method of guitar setup, and how that guides us to and through the process of getting our guitars playing the way we want them to play. I'm talking a lot about guitars here, but this process would be the same if you were setting up an electric or acoustic, bass or banjo, mandolin or ukelele. Some of the details are different, but the stops along the setup T.R.A.I.N. are the same. Then we are finally able to listen to the sound comparisons. What do you think? Can you tell the difference between the different materials? Which do you like best? 0:00 Introduction 0:30 Welcome and Channel Overview 1:07 Previous Episodes Recap 3:46 Finalizing the Setup using TRAIN method 4:19 Guitar Prep Before Setup 7:07 Starting the Setup: "T" stands for Tune 8:51 "R" stands for Relief 10:58 "A" stands for Action 13:54 "I" stands for Intonation 15:00 "N" Stands for...
