🎶 "УзССР" - Official Track Description "УзССР" is a powerful musical work reflecting the tumultuous seven-decade history of the Uzbek people under Soviet rule and the preceding Tsarist colonial period. This track is based on a poetic narrative detailing: The start of colonial oppression (water diversion, "native" status) and the false promise of the October Revolution. The Stalinist Repressions, the crushing of the Jadid movement, the heroic struggle of the Basmachi, cultural destruction (mosques, madrasahs), and the ecological disaster of the Aral Sea due to cotton mono-culture. The sacrifice of over half a million Uzbek soldiers in World War II for "alien ideals" and the continued exploitation through post-war campaigns. The "Era of Stagnation," the grief of the Afghan War, and the final, brutal political terror campaign known as the "Cotton Case" (O'zbeklar Ishi).
