Special note regarding silicone caulking: GE's Type I (which contains acetic acid) is the kind that works with the acrylic paint and glycerin method. GE's Type II does not as it uses a different chemical process to cure. If you do not have type I available in your area take a look at the warnings on what ever brand you do have- if it mentions acetic acid it's a good bet it will work.
