Ceiling Fans In My House!

National Ceiling Fan Day is just around the corner, so I thought I'd make a video that many other fan collectors make, and that is a tour of the ceiling fans installed around my house! I often find myself using ceiling fans that I don't particularly care about in my old workshop turned storage room, as I need a fan to run 24/7 in there. The DIY plastic fan blade & cheapo ceiling fan motor combo that I currently have installed does the job brilliantly! About the Veto, I acquired it alongside 2 other fans from Pankaat last year. You can see 1 of the other fans in the first clip. With my current video publication schedule, I feel like the earliest time that the demo video of that Veto can be released is late next year. So if you don't want to wait that long to see it run, let me know in the comments & I'll hang it up for NCFD this year! Yes, the DIY DC ceiling fan is still there & it still works. It's another fan that I procrastinated way too long on how to make the video. Never in my life have I thought about obtaining the DEMC 48" industrial ceiling fan from my school, but I did just that some time prior to publishing this video! I did have to let go of 2 of my National F560A1s to replace it & the SMC KN56, but it was a trade I was more than happy to make! So far I think I have 3 vintage Malaysian 60" KDKs. 2 are made in the 80's, one made in the 70's. They're some of the most interesting ceiling fans that I have, simply because I don't think those fans were sold anywhere else in the world. Also, even though all of them are around 40 years old, they've mostly held up fine aside from a bit of sun rotten plastic & yellowed paint. It really is a testament of how well those fans are made, that you can still see some of them being used in many kopitiams (traditional coffee shops), workshops and homes across Malaysia even to this day! The brown custom 48" ceiling fan is one of my latest creation, and I believe is the 5th custom curved blade ceiling fan I've made. I'm beyond happy to see my progress on sculpting curved tip ceiling fan blades, mainly because the first 4 look rather crude. On another topic, I have replaced the downrod on this fan with a longer one a day after filming. Upon switching the fan to full speed, I can feel a noticeable increase of airflow which seems to indicate that the fan was indeed starving for air on full speed with the short downrod. What didn't change was the airflow pattern, which still sticks to the floor like the Marelli ceiling fan on which it's based on. I don't think I've taken any of the outdoor workshop ceiling fans down ever since I installed them, except for that one time I used the spot for the white one to film an antique DEMC ceiling fan, while replacing the capacitor on that fan. So far they've held up pretty well, with the only signs of wear being the small amount of rust on the leading edge of the customized CKE fan blades, a tiny bit of drooping on the ArtinAir's blade arm, and further fading on its sticker. Enjoy!
