The Plymouth City Council Armada Way Team meet at 8pm on the evening of the Armada Way felling. The group are joined by James Drake from Devon and Cornwall Police. ⚫ Martin Ivatt reports that there are 6 to 8 protesters on site and at 00:11:45 he announces that one of the "more aggressive persons" has arrived, who he identifies as Rick Green. Martin then goes on to make a number of unsubstantiated claims about Rick. We believe that Martin makes these false allegations and points the Police towards Rick because he has a problem with him personally. Previously, Rick had outed Martin on Facebook for using an account under a number of false names with which he comments on the Armada Way project while he is managing it. He also likes comments by people who troll the STRAW account. Comments he liked include ones which call protesters "snowflakes", call on the council to remove the ribbons from the fences and send the bill to STRAW, which claim that STRAW are a group of political extremists, that STRAW are "out to do as much damage as possible" and that Ali has gone "power crazy", that STRAW aren't genuinely worried about trees but that the campaign is a cover to raise funds for a political candidate and question why people aren't protesting about other trees being felled elsewhere in Plymouth. The Armada Way independent Learning Review panel commented in their report that people at PCC had mentioned that the STRAW campaign was political and supported a party, but they said that they couldn't find evidence of this or which party it might be! ⚫ Martin Ivatt says that Paul Barnard heard a chainsaw earlier and this makes Jane Slavin laugh. ⚫ Paul Barnard calls Martin Ivatt to inform him that there is a drone in the air. James Drake tells them that it belongs to the BBC. Jane Slavin points out that the BBC did not ask permission but the group decide to let it go, Ellie Firth asks whether it is worth raising it with them. Giles Perritt agrees to leave it. ⚫ At a previous meeting, PCC had discussed whether the Police could shoot down a drone, should STRAW put one up. Martin Ivatt comments, "I'm not too concerned about the BBC, it's when STRAW get their drone up, because they do have one. What happens then?" (we didn't have one). ⚫ James Drake says he is keeping an eye on STRAW social media. ⚫ Dave Ryland suggests setting up a WhatsApp group. Very few WhatsApp messages were shared by PCC when asked via disclosure.
