Hello Welcome to NextMeds! In this video, we are going to discuss Acute Appendicitis Signs And Symptoms, Risk Factors, Diagnosis And Treatment Appendicitis is the medical term used to describe the inflammation of the appendix. The appendix is an appendage that protrudes from the cecum, located in the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. Acute appendicitis is a common reason for abrupt abdominal pain, primarily affecting children and young adults, with few cases in newborns and older persons. Perforation poses a greater danger to younger children, with rates ranging from 50% to 85%. The appendix can be located in several places, such as retro-caecal, pelvic, para-caecal, sub-caecal, pre-ileal, and post-ileal. The fundamental etiology of appendicitis is lumen obstruction, often attributed to factors such as lymphoid hyperplasia, which is more prevalent in pediatric patients. The cause of this condition is attributed to Crohn's disease and several diseases, including Gastroenteritis, Ameobiasis, Respiratory infections, Measles, and Mononucleosis. Additionally, the presence of faecaliths is more prevalent among adults. Additional factors contributing to the condition include parasites, foreign objects, and neoplasms. The occurrence of appendicitis due to genetic factors within a family is uncommon. The usual clinical manifestation consists of discomfort in the central abdomen that moves towards the right iliac fossa, along with symptoms such as loss of appetite, feeling of sickness, throwing up, mild fever, and sensitivity in the right iliac fossa. During a physical examination, several symptoms may be observed, including rebound pain, Rovsing's sign, obturator sign, and psoas sign, indicating that the hip will be maintained in a flexed posture. The appendix can exhibit different clinical aspects depending on its location, including quiet symptoms when the appendix is retrocaecal. Diarrhea is accompanied by inflammation of the appendix located in the pelvic region. Indications of peritonitis caused by a ruptured appendix. Untreated or inadequately treated appendicitis can lead to the development of an appendicular mass or abscess, necessitating close observation and, in certain instances, further medical treatments. The diagnostic investigations comprise a comprehensive blood count revealing an increase in neutrophil white blood cells, analysis of urine, measurement of C-reactive protein levels, ultrasound examination, contrast CT scan, and urine beta-HCG test for females who are capable of carrying children. The typical course of treatment typically consists of appendicectomy, which is the surgical removal of the appendix, along with the administration of antibiotics through an intravenous route. Appendicular mass development may be managed conservatively, with careful monitoring of vital signs and the growth of the mass. Laparotomy is the recommended surgical procedure for a perforated appendix, whereas incision and drainage are carried out for an appendicular abscess. acute appendicitis pathology, acute appendicitis ultrasound, acute appendicitis examination, acute appendicitis treatment, acute appendicitis signs, acute appendicitis case presentation, acute appendicitis surgery notes, acute appendicitis surgery selfless medicos, acute appendicitis شرح, acute appendicitis nursing, acute appendicitis pediatrics, acute appendicitis histopathology, acute appendicitis examination in Bangla Other Videos- Uterine Fibroid- • Uterine Fibroids Signs And Symptoms Types,...
