🔊 Welcome to our Huawei Networking Tutorial Series! In this video, we walk you through the process of configuring a trunk port on a Huawei switch. Trunk ports are essential for allowing multiple VLANs to pass through a single network link — a fundamental setup in enterprise networks. 👉 Want to learn more about configuring networking devices? A trunk port is a type of switch port used in networking that carries traffic for multiple VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks) over a single physical link. It's commonly used in enterprise networks to allow communication between switches while preserving VLAN segmentation. 🔹 Key Points About Trunk Ports: • Carries Multiple VLANs: Unlike access ports (which carry traffic for only one VLAN), trunk ports can carry traffic for multiple VLANs at once. • Uses VLAN Tagging: Trunk ports use IEEE 802.1Q tagging to identify which VLAN each packet belongs to. • Common Use Case: Connecting two switches, or a switch and a router, so that devices in different VLANs can communicate across the network. • Native VLAN: A trunk port can also have a native VLAN (untagged traffic belongs to this VLAN by default). 🔧 Example Scenario: If you have VLAN 10 for HR and VLAN 20 for IT, and you want both VLANs to communicate across multiple switches, you configure the link between the switches as a trunk port. This way, both VLANs’ traffic can flow across one cable without mixing. 📺 Enjoyed the video? 👍 Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more Huawei and network configuration tutorials!
