First time through the door at D-Lab a cool Ampeg B-15 reissue amp made by George Metropoulos and company. Only 53 manufactured. A real pretty machine, chrome plated, vintage design, completely hand wired. Unfortunately this one is plagued with horrendous noise. Rendering it useless in its present state. I found several items that contributed to the noise floor. See details in the video. Corrected them bringing it it back under control. There is still some remaining low level hum, however does not seem to affect its operation. The real fix may be to modify channel 2 to reflect the input circuit of channel 1, however this would degrade the value, so it remains in the stock configuration. I did my best and confirmed the status with the owner. Fun project, I hope he is pleased. Note: I was instructed not to modify the amp, Therefore it leaves as is.
