Buildings that date from WW2 at the former station RAF Condover. Taken 12/12/2020 A satellite station for Atcham then Shawbury. Only open for a couple of years with based aircraft, Masters, Oxfords and Harvards. Still played a major part in the training of pilots. Permission must be sought before entering. Both main sites are busy. One a thriving commercial stables, the other, a highly secure industrial estate. The latter was originally the Training Site but nearly all the buildings there now, are later and built on the foundations of the original WW2 structures. There are a handful of exceptions in the slideshow. Also, there is a large and highly secure solar farm on the land where the landing site was with cameras everywhere. At 3:44 in the slideshow, this building is shown on the official RAF site plan as Technical Latrines WAAF 9026/41. However, the 9026 design is much smaller. If you have an interest in airfield architecture, my 2 volumes are still available. Search "British Airfield Buildings" on ebay. Alternatively, contact me Graham Innes at [email protected] If you would like to use any of the images, please ask.
