So as the title implies this video was meant to be just a fun video of the rats enjoying some rice pop treats. And for the most part that's exactly what it was - no rats go hurt, and they all enjoyed their treats. But this was taken a few weeks back when my group was not fully bonded yet, and Pickle (marten rat) almost took it too far. She nipped the other rats during this video and generally was being very high-strung and on edge - thankfully since then the group has fully integrated and Pickle is just fine sharing even the tastiest treats, but I do wish I did a bit more to deescalate this situation (again no rat got hurt, but there should never be the possibility of it happening either). I hesitated to post this, but I think its useful as a learning experience. I'm not perfect, and sometimes I don't make the best judgments for my rats in the moment. Thankfully it all ended well, but this is the sort of food squabbling you do want to prevent, because it goes well above the usual cagemate levels. Its especially something to avoid in a newly bonded group like this one was, so please learn from my mistake and if your rats are getting too on edge while eating, take a step back and have them enjoy their treats separately from further apart, before moving them slowly together again. (I do want to note that if you see food agression inside the cage then the best remedy is often to scatter feed food in the bedding - this prevents rats from getting territorial over the food bowl, and lets other rats eat in other parts of the cage. I had to do this when I added Mallow to my group as Cream got a bit food agressive inside the cage, and it took about 2 weeks before they were completely integrated and i was able to add the food bowl back into the cage). 💕Join this channel: / @shadowtherat 💸 Paypal: https://www.paypal.me/shadowtherat 💵 Patreon: / shadowtherat 📭 Amazon wish list: http://a.co/eSY68TQ 📧 Email me for questions & business inquires: rattrixs@Gmail.com 🎨 Buy Rat Paintings (Etsy Page): https://www.etsy.com/shop/RatPaintings 📦 Amazon recommended rat products (US): https://www.amazon.com/shop/shadowtherat 📦 Amazon recommended rat products (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/shop/shadowt... 📦 Amazon recommended rat products (Canada): https://www.amazon.ca/shop/shadowtherat 📌 Rat website for rat care: https://rattrix.weebly.com/ 👍 Facebook page: / pet-rat-trick-training-108314211627469 💈 Instagram page: / shadow_the_rat_s 🎥 Tiktok page: https://www.tiktok.com/@shadowtherat?...
