"Saturday Sun" (Nick Drake cover) by the Nikhil Korula Acoustic Quartet and Aaron Grooves

The 6th and final full performance of SIGHT & SOUND Episode 8 is a cover of one of my all time favorite songs written by Nick Drake, "Saturday Sun," a love song that touches the heart. When I first heard this song, I remember time standing still and just completely falling in love with that diminished chord in the verses. The thing about diminished chords that I love is when they have such a perfect footing in a song that they make you take notice, but not enough to make you lose the vibe of the song. Not many use these chords so elegantly. Nick Drake has always been one of my favorite songwriters so I was so honored and thrilled to be able to cover this song. His original song has vibes in it so when I knew Aaron was going to play marimba for this episode, I had to add this song to the mix and it became so special right away. If you didn't know this song before, I hope you fall in love with every part of it. It really is such an incredible vibe. I have a feeling you will think so, too. :)
