Mountains surrounding the place and the city's landmark - the ruins of the castle on one of the hills give a breathtaking view from the building's windows. The town, although small (30,000 inhabitants), has a strong educational background - a new university is being built. Good communication with large cities located about 1.5 - 2 hours away - Lausanne and Geneva is ensured by frequent trains. The region is picturesque. There are wineries and vineyards nearby.
