The design of the Starfire pistol greatly resembles a miniature M1911, or rather a Star Model B, with the same general profile and many of the same controls. The first Model D pistols were manufactured in Spain in 1922, while the DKL variant was later produced from 1950 with an aluminum alloy frame instead of the original steel frame. Selled in USA as Starfire, with a frame a little bit larger than the DK model, although with the same dimensions.
