Capital University instructor Neal Schmitt explores drum miking techniques in collaboration with the Creative Arts Workshop. This workshop is divided into two parts. Part 1 is about creative drum sounds at the source. We explore how drumstick choices at the source make a huge impact on both the sound and the drummer's playing, how drum stick choices, dampening, and altering the drum or cymbal sound alters the performer's choices and playing style.
