Excerpt taken from "Die Deutschen" documentary (ZDF), Season 1, Episode 10. Watch the full episode here with subs: • Die Deutschen (The Germans) S01E10 'Wilhe... . English subtitles are available, go to settings (the gear wheel symbol/icon) to enable it. So I wanted to upload this video since there apparently were no videos about the clip on YouTube. So I thought I would upload it. Sorry for the bad quality, I recorded it from the documentary online. Here you can hear Kaiser Wilhelm 2 (of the German Empire) making the infamous 'Hun Speech' (or 'Hunnenrede' in German), to the soldiers going to China for the Boxer Rebellion. The speech was made on the 27th of July, 1900, in Bremerhaven (Germany). This speech is the reason why the Allies used to potray the Germans as the "Huns" in World War 1 for propaganda. Here is a full translation of the speech: “Should you encounter the enemy, he will be defeated! No quarter will be given! Prisoners will not be taken! Whoever falls into your hands is forfeited. Just as a thousand years ago the Huns under their King Attila made a name for themselves, one that even today makes them seem mighty in history and legend, may the name German be affirmed by you in such a way in China that no Chinese will ever again dare to look cross-eyed at a German.” See for more information on the speech: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm... I do not make, nor do I want to, profit of this video. All rights of the clip belong to the maker of the video, in this case the ZDF.
