The vehicle in this video is my 1998 Saturn SL2. This is a video depicting a power steering fluid exchange. There are a few different methods, the most easy of which, is using a turkey baster and sucking out all the fluid from the reservoir then fill it up again. I decided to take a bigger approach and remove the two main hydraulic lines to the rack and push out as much of the old fluid as possible. Doing it this way removes most of the old worn out fluid and will mean more new power steering fluid will be running through the lines. However, This process is not perfect. after a few days you will see that it will turn that dark color again. It is recommended you perform this 2-3 more times because you will never remove all the fluid the first time. If it is the first time you are doing this, make sure you have the right tools first. Flare wrenches will be your friend. also, get some penetrating oil. This did not work in my case, but it might help loosen some of those stubborn retaining nuts. I was trying to avoid using a set of vise grips but I had to resort to them because the line was practically seized on the rack. I know its a long video but its the best way I could show how to perform this type of maintenance. My video making skills are improving and hopefully future videos will be less hand held. Thanks, enjoy the video. Hope it answers your questions. Like my content? Donate to the cause! Paypal: https://paypal.me/JungleKing007 Coinbase: @JungleKing007
