During COVID lockdown, children from the ACMF music program at St Mary St Joseph Primary School, Maroubra, unite in a powerful virtual choir, singing "I Am Australian" in Yawuru, English, and AUSLAN signing! The challenges of COVID lockdown couldn't stop the music! When choir lessons at St Mary St Joseph Primary School in Maroubra were paused, the Australian Children's Music Foundation (ACMF) music program adapted, creating this heartwarming virtual choir. Each child submitted clips from home, beautifully compiled to create a collective, inspiring performance. This rendition of "I Am Australian" is truly special, showcasing inclusion and cultural richness. The children sing not only in English but also in Yawuru, the Indigenous language of the Kimberley region (used with permission), and incorporate AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language).
