The Surfinia trailing Petunias produce strong and vigorous plants that give you a display that is second-to-none, so make sure that they are placed in a sunny position in well-drained soil to get a fantastic display of flowers. Plant the plugs on into larger pots minimum 7cm diameter and grow on indoors on a cool windowsill, conservatory, or heated greenhouse +10oC. Pinch out the growing tips to stop the plants getting too leggy, this encourages side shoots to develop which will give you more stems and MORE flowers. When roots are coming through the bottom of the pot it’s time to plant up into your hanging basket using good quality compost and slow release fertiliser and grow on protected from frost.
