[ Preface: I saw this show just yesterday. I LOVED it. At first sight. I really only managed to get it because of Christopher Lee's presence in the cast U_U and I was not only surprised to see he doesnt' die after the first five minutes *_* I was also so lucky to find a wonderful show! It doesn't happen often that I love so much a show. Obviously I want to read the books. I know they're different but I think the show itself is really good. It reminds me of Pratchett... darker. And sadder. I love also Richard Griffith's and Stephen Fry's performances. And Fiona Shaw. XD And - no, I love them all. They're all crazy. *_* They're all dusty. XD I liked even Jonathan Rhys Meyers, which I normally don't like... he's so young and evil 3 and crazy XD again XD Well, enough said. A bit more serious: ] It could be only a coincidence but when I heard this song it immediately reminded me of Gormenghast. It's not something in particular in the lyrics, they don't even fit so well... it was just a feeling. I like all the characters, and the world of Gormenghast itself, so I didn't intend to make a tribute to only one character or relationship (Mr Flay O cough) also because I find the music well fitted for the whole story. But, while working ad it, I started conceiving the video from Fuchsia's point of view... it's almost as if it was all in her mind. So I tried to show her love for Steerpike but also her memories about those importat for her (Nanny Slagg, Dr Prunesquallor, her father) and how her dreams had to face reality (that's why I didn't use the sequences in which Steerpike really is a bad guy... because Fuchsia never knew about it and/or didn't accept it).
