In this episode, meet Christine Luciani, author of Facing Mortality: My New Appreciation of Life, featured in Women Like Me – A Celebration of Courage and Triumphs. Christine’s story took a profound turn when she was diagnosed with cancer and began preparing for surgery. During pre-operative testing, doctors uncovered a serious, life-threatening heart condition—one so critical it required open-heart surgery. Had she not been diagnosed with cancer, the heart issue may never have been discovered—and could have taken her life. What first felt like devastating news became the very thing that saved her. After years as a stay-at-home mom, Christine later transitioned into working life as a real estate assistant and now thrives as a virtual assistant specializing in social media posting and marketing—all from home. Facing mortality reshaped how Christine sees life, love, and what truly matters. Today, she embraces what’s next with clarity, gratitude, and a new dream calling her forward: driving across Canada to experience the east coast, having already fallen in love with the west. Christine is a young-at-heart 63-year-old mother of three, nana to two, and a deeply connected soul who believes family extends far beyond bloodlines. She’s also a devoted fur-mom to her dog Harley and cats Oscar, Boo, and Pokey Joe. This is a conversation about perspective, presence, and the unexpected ways life intervenes—sometimes to save us. Hosted by Julie Fairhurst, founder of Women Like Me, where storytelling meets ethical persuasion—and women learn to sell without betraying who they are. #WomenLikeMe #FacingMortality #WomenSharingStories #womenover60 #CanadianWomen #PurposeAfterChange #juliefairhurst #death #mentalhealth #cancer
