This is video of how Rock and Log V-weirs were used to enhance the fish habitat on Canmore Creek, in Canmore, Alberta. There is also footage of opposing rock deflectors. All of these structures were utilized to create pool habitats on a small stream where pool habitats were close to non-existant prior to the enhancement program. The later part of this video shows the pool habitats, 12 years after they had been constructed. In total, there were 26 Log V-weirs built on the creek and 28 Rock V-weirs. The total number of opposing rock deflector pools was 33 constructed. The project was completed by Bow Valley Habitat Development, with funding support provided by partner, TransAlta Utilities Corporation.
