Thousands of Israelis have crossed into Egypt freely, fleeing conflict with Iran. Meanwhile, aid convoys and international activists trying to reach besieged Gaza are blocked, beaten, or deported. Egypt is facing growing accusations of hypocrisy and double standards - allowing safe passage to Israelis but denying critical relief efforts to Palestinians trapped under total siege. In 2024, Egyptian firms also charged $5,000 per person for Palestinians to cross the Rafah border. Now, Israelis flee without fees or restrictions. Cyprus and Jordan are also facilitating evacuations - but none are challenging the siege on Gaza. So the question remains: Why are borders open for some - and shut tight for others?
