What is Front Axel Service Brake? air brake system

The service brake is a component of the air brake system that is used for normal stopping of vehicles with air brakes. It is controlled by the brake pedal and is separate from the parking and emergency brake subsystems. When the driver presses the brake pedal, compressed air fills the service brake chamber causing the diaphragm to move and push out the pushrod to apply the brakes. The front air service brake is a term used to describe the service brake subsystem that is responsible for stopping the front wheels of a vehicle.
