Food Insecurity and Solutions in Durham Region: A Learning Circle from Climate Justice Durham and the Whitby Sustainability Advisory Committee! 🩵 This recording is from Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 with a presentation from Francesca Hannan and Mary Drummond from the Durham Food Policy Council. This was our fifth Learning Circle webinar in a series that invites knowledgeable speakers to talk about various topics related to the environment and climate change. Topics covered in the Learning Circle: -The Durham Food System Report -The Durham Food Charter -Local food sourcing -Community gardening -Tackling the growing cost of food Francesca Hannan has been a member of the Durham Food Policy Council since 2019. She is one of the principal researchers and authors of the Durham Food System Report Card. Mary Drummond was one of the founding members of the Durham Food Policy Council in 2010 and is its current chair. Before that, Mary was a key mover in consulting on and developing the Durham Region Food Charter as part of the Task Force that advanced the charter to Regional Council endorsement.
