The structured programme opened with Bharatnatyam dance performance by Punyah Dance Company, Bengaluru. The item was Punyah Krishna which is the journey of a devotee along with lord Krishna, journey of ‘Jeevantma’ along with ‘Paramatma’. The devotee offers his body, mind and soul through this divine dance which is so dear to lord Krishna. Punyah Krishna based on Jagatguru Shri Aadi Shankaracharya’s Krishna Shatakam set to music by Vidhwan Shri Gopalkrishna Shrikan in Rag Malike and Aadi tala. Second item of the evening was Kathak Dance by Abhinab Dance Company from Bengaluru their first presentation was Barsha followed by Meera Bai Bhajan. Third presentation was Odissi Dance Barsha O Basanta by the student of Nupur Institution. Last item of the first evening was Martial Dance form Antalah by Anveshana Society for Performing Arts, New Delhi. Abhimanyu stands for many virtues, such as courage, righteousness, selflessness, respect for elders and love for one’s family. He had fought for Dharma. A sixteen year old boy was the supreme hero of the thirteenth day and even perhaps the whole Mahabharata war Abhimanyu (Antaha – at the end) as a metaphor for youth the war of every nation. Earlier the Chief Minister of Odisha presented Ruchi Buddha Samman to Kum Kum Mohanty, eminent Odissi dancer and Guru for her outstanding contribution to the field of Indian Classical Dance & Music. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha, Shri Ashok Kumar Panda; Minister, Tourism & Culture, Shri G. K. Dhal, Principal Secretary, Tourism; Shri M. R. Panigrahi, Secretary, Culture; Shri N. B. Jawale, Director, Tourism and Shri Lalit Mansingh. The programme was compared by Er.
