How to Incorporate Sensation Play in the Bedroom

You can probably think of a time you've seen your partner naked or undressing or even just dressed in a sexy outfit and felt that rush of excitement, but there are also specific things that you can do, whether you're having solo sex or sex with a partner in order to really exploit that sense of sight and really heightened the sensations of visual pleasure. One of the best ways to do that is to alter the lighting, research has shown that soft, dim lighting actually has a physiological impact on our bodies, it causes our cortisol levels to lower. Those are our stress hormones, and we want those to be extra low. When we're trying to get in the mood. It can also put us in a state where we are more conducive to being turned on. Now, of course you can achieve this by simply turning off or dimming the lights, but another great way to really engage your sense of sight is to light lots of candles, the warm glow of candlelight can be really sexy and sensual and help to put both you and your partner in a incredibly romantic mood while also really exploiting that sense of sight. Touch is arguably one of our most powerful senses. In fact, it's so powerful that during lockdowns in the height of the pandemic, when people were unable to have physical contact with one another, there was an actual phenomenon that researchers described as touch hunger. And it is essentially the experience of people longing for physical touch and embrace and caress by other human beings. Touch is really something that we need to survive.
