if it was you that made my body, you probably shouldn't have made me atheist. // WATCH W/ THE ORIGINAL AUDIO HERE: http://www.mediafire.com/file/82qc8h7... COVER BY DAISY CLARK: • Видео INSPIRATION: • Видео // hey what's up. welcome to emmett's religious crisis. first of all, i had to re-sync the video with this cover because no matter how much i pitched the original song, it wouldn't get past youtube's copyright filters. i'd like it if you watch the original on vimeo. if you watch both versions, maybe let me know which one you like more :O i should tell y'all that even though this song explicitly mentions jesus, i'm kinda pretending those lines are about god in general, cuz this video is made from a jewish perspective. anyway, i've been thinking a lot about this stuff lately and about whether or not i actually believe in god (i'm pretty sure i don't. i never have before), about whether or not i need to believe in god to be a good jew, etc... me wanting to delve deeper into my heritage has kinda shaken up my world in some ways, as religion has never been important to me before. but being jewish is so important to me now... even if i never end up practicing the actual religious aspect of it, being jewish is still always going to be a major part of my personal identity, but it feels like that conflicts with not believing in god.. it should be pretty obvious, but the secondary characters in this video (the eagle from spirit, the raven from balto 2, the yellow cat from felidae, the black rabbit of inle, aniu, mufasa) are meant to represent god. uhh yeah.. hope this ain't too "cringe" as the kids say
