Exploring ‘The Wilderness’ Porthcawl - An Overlooked Gem

A short walk around the peaceful Wilderness area in the centre of Porthcawl. This walk is less than a mile and suitable for nearly everyone. The Wilderness is a small lake which dates back many years and was once an inlet from the sea leading up to Nottage village. The area is home to many birds including swans, coots and moorhens. As well as plenty of fish including tench, carp and bream. The Wilderness is usually very quiet, an overlooked gem of Porthcawl.
