The Quire of Cheahs © 2009 I have always wanted to record 'Spem in alium' ever since I first heard it. This incredible piece is so rarely performed since it requires 40 excellent singers one-on-a-part (Tallis wrote this for eight five-part choirs). Having finally 'formed' the Quire of Cheahs and embarking on recording projects a few weeks ago -- you can find more videos of the Quire on YouTube -- I thought it was time to test my limits and put this beast on disc (as it were). This was a labour of love, taking about a span of 36 hours to complete. I hope you enjoy listening to this amazing work. Apologies in advance for the (predominantly) blank screen. I found the effort of trying to have a blow-by-blow excerpt of the score with the music to be impractical given the immensity of the score. Thus, the supplementary provision of translations.
