Miss Lee Morse singing Mississippi Mud, backed by her blue grass boys from 1928 on a Columbia Viva-tonal 10" 78rpm record. The song was composed by James Cavanaugh & Harry Barris (Of Paul Whiteman's Rhythm Boys fame). Lee Morse was a very popular Jazz & Blues singer of the 1920's & 30's with distinctive strong deep singing voice and vocal range. The Victrola is an early two door Victor Orthophonic Credenza from 1925. The Credenza was the top of the line model of Victors line of Orthophonic Acoustic Victrolas which Victor introduced in late 1925 on "Victor Day". These Victrolas were a new concept in recorded sound play back devices, and were specifically designed to play the new electrically recorded records which made there debut earlier that year.
