All right, so as I was with my friends with our Oscar Week event, which is two weeks of Oscar nominated movies, I encountered something in Union Square on my way to home after watching Dream Train. This little nook is called Sweet Cats Bubble Tea and Claw Machine. The name does imply what it is. It is a bubble tea cafe, but also an arcade, which is sadly mostly claw machines and redemption games. I looked into any arcades near the Regal in Union Square, and while the Barcade was there, I saw this place and decided to check it out after the film to see what it has. It is...passable at best, and has some unique theming. Plus having a bubble tea while trying to win a Hello Kitty doll in a claw machine is quite a good combination. Still, they need to consider adding some actual arcade games if they can bring some people into the cafe. Some recent arcade cabinets such as Japanese themed racing and rhythm games might do a trick.
