Luxor Temple is the world's largest open-air museum, but it's so much more than a destination for tourists and Egyptologists. It's the spiritual and physical heart of its community. At the recent festival celebrating the opening of the Avenue of Sphinxes, the whole world caught a glimpse of one fascinating aspect of its ongoing importance in Egyptian religious life. I talk about why that is, and why the Luxor temple is the oldest site in the whole world that's still in use by ordinary people.
