VI — Model Deployment & Pipelines: The Relationship After Conflict

In machine learning, a model is not finished when it trains well. It is finished when it works in the real world. Training accuracy means little if the model crashes once users arrive. Relationships are identical. Many couples believe reconciliation is the “end” of conflict. In reality, reconciliation is only training. The real test is deployment — ordinary life after the difficult conversation. A trained model still needs a pipeline: • data comes in continuously • it is processed • predictions are produced • feedback is monitored • the system is updated A healthy relationship develops the same structure. After conflict: • new situations enter (daily stress, work, family, fatigue) • old triggers get processed differently • new responses replace old reactions • feedback appears (tone, gestures, small behaviours) • adjustments follow Without a pipeline, even a good model degrades. Without new habits, even a sincere apology fades. Love is not maintained by the apology. It is maintained by the systems that prevent the same wound from reopening. In ML this is called monitoring and retraining. In life this is called trust rebuilding. Trust does not come from words. Trust comes from predictable behaviour over time. Conflict, therefore, is not what breaks relationships. Unmaintained systems do.
