This video covers the recent announcement Max has made about the game and its future Grave/Digger discord: / discord Maxs full announcement: In regards to updates to Grave/Digger The game was released by Red a short while ago, and both Red and I agree that games shouldn't be developed forever. Not every developer can afford time or money to develop a game post release, we're not a studio and we're not paid to work on the game. Even though I could theoretically get a developer team that would agree to work for free (as I can't actually hire anyone for money), I am against continued development of this game by principle. As Red has said before, "games need to be games, an experience from start to finish that ends and theres nothing wrong with that". This does not mean that G/D would be abandoned completely. I will continue to maintain the game to keep it playable (as Roblox is almost guaranteed to make some update in the future that might break it, that was what caused the entire community to go bald for a few days): fixing critical bugs, some less-critical bugs, and adding certain QoL features if some are suggested. There may be balance updates VERY RARELY, though my goal is to preserve the game as it is, which includes the state of balance. There is one semi-major update planned for the future - the Armoury - which is a menu rework which separates the stats screen from the loadout menu into its own tab, with much more detailed weapon stats, including stats for misc. weapons such as Shock weapons, an expansion to weapon lore, and more explanations on certain in-game mechanics for new players. Though this update won't come soon. It is not a small amount of work, and I am busy with schoolwork as I have my graduation exams in a few months and enrolment into university that I have to deal with. My own personal life takes priority over this game and I hope you can understand this. It's also the fact that Red has an entirely different coding style to mine, and it is very difficult for me to add something to this game without breaking it, as I have done many times over. As some of you know, I have my own project - Grave/Digger: Redug - which is a fanmade version of the game that I'm making more for myself than anyone else. It's a test of my abilities first and foremost, but also my appreciation for the game as a whole. Because I'm shifting over to preserving the original, this will be the game where I implement most of my wanted additions, including slower gameplay and things that possibly wouldn't fit design-wise into the original. Don't think of it as an official continuation, replacement, or remake of the original game. There is no active development yet, and I haven't been working on it much, but after the Armoury is finished, I will move onto finishing this project and developing it until the final release, shifting it to maintenance much like this game. In closing, I sincerely hope this message will clear up some of the confusion regarding the development status of the game, and I am hoping that you all take this lightly and understand my decision to not turn this game into live-service slop that kills itself over time. I agreed to maintain this game out of my love for this game and my respect for Red as a developer. #archeximus #gravedigger #roblox
