Ace Attorney shenanigans ++++++ Story: The trial begins and it's every bit as chaotic. Sera had hoped that the chaos would unfold later and that there would be some semblance of peace but nope, straight up fighting. Adam tries to make his case for redemption but Vaggie comes out swinging with her own objections. As 2nd in command of the Exorcists, there was no way she was about to not attend the trial that could render her job/purpose obsolete. She successfully vanquished the sinner that killed her and the thought of a reality where said sinner made it to Heaven? No, she was too passionate about protecting some winners from that. Hell is forever, Divine Judgement cannot and should not be overturned. Doesn't matter if the sin is relatively minor, such as gambling your life away, the Exorcists are extremists in their anti sinner policy. Lute believes some people are worthy enough to change but her main goal is to stop the extermination, mainly because she knows it will not bring her fellow angels the peace they seek. Vaggie thinks she found peace but if that were true, she wouldn't still be a ball of unresolved anger. Revenge is not leaving all of these angels satisfied and it cannot be a healthy coping mechanism. Cain was scared the whole time, he had recently found out what the Exorcists were and though he did not mean to kill that one rogue angel that swung at him, he still felt nauseous over it. Yes, he was cursed but the sheer fear he felt made it seem like the curse would not protect him from a crazy beating or something. Illogical, since the curse was still in effect but Abel was really intimidating. Oh, and Seth was running late. ++++++ “Wasn't this originally just a short?”. Yep (so pardon if the first half is in portrait mode, the OG short on my channel was how it was meant to be watched), but I had spare sketches of a possible extended version laying around so while I work on Lute vs Vaggie, I polished it up because it's been almost 3 weeks of no upload. I mean, this song fits too well sometimes. I had to. To add more lore, the later half shows the moment Sera arrived on Earth to retrieve Cain. After she dragged him up to Heaven, she ushered him in to see Adam, which leads to the More than Anything animatic. If you recognize the hand reference, it is the 2nd time I reference the famous Michelangelo piece, the Creation of Adam. Though in this case, it's Adam’s son and the Chief of the Seraphim enacting it lol. And while I showed Emily being smug at the trial in Respectless, keep in mind she is still livid at Sera for dragging Cain up to Heaven and would be happy to throw him down to Hell. She was smug in Respectless because it was Abel’s turn to testify. Her expression was meant to convey “Sis, you're seriously rooting for Adam? He's getting cooked :3”. This part is the Redemptionists trying to make their case. Fun fact, the singers you're listening to in this short aren't human.
