Asif Qureshi who has been to the barrier of the world - the south pole, takes us through a journey of experiences that inspired him to pursue research. He also shares how the small things in our lives can make a significant difference by giving an example from his research on the micro pollutants in the environment. Asif Qureshi is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, and the leader of the Emerging Contaminants Group (ECG) which focuses on industrial micro-pollutants that cause neurological, cardiovascular and endocrine disruption in humans. He has also led the expedition to Antarctica for four months in 2017, where they have discovered Antarctic fungi that can be used to fight Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
