This paper describes the Karelians in their greatest diversity, namely the Northern and Tver Karelians, Ludiks and Livviks, as well as Veps and poorly studied populations of Izhorians, Ingrians and Vozhans. At the same time, the set of Y-chromosomes of Tver Karelians from the previous paper demonstrated their genetic relationship with the southern populations of Karelians and Vepsians. In total, the study covers eight Finno-Ugric populations currently living in the territory of the Russian Federation. In particular, the authors studied the Northern Karelians of the Kalevala District, the Livvi of the Olonetsky District, the Ludiks of the Pryazhinsky District of the Republic of Karelia, and the Tver Karelians of the Tver Region, as well as the Vepsians of the Prionezhsky District of Karelia, the Ingrians of the Gatchina Municipal District, the Izhorians of the Soikinsky Peninsula and the lower reaches of the Luga River in the Kingisepp District of the Leningrad Region, and the Western Vozhans from the area of the former village of Krakolye within the settlement of Ust-Luga in the Kingisepp District of the Leningrad Region. This study also focuses on a local comparison of Finno-Ugric groups with neighboring Russian populations. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Such channels are not so popular, so they need your support! 💲Support the channel: Map: 2200 0305 5777 6474 SBP +79494145663 Additional: 5599 0020 1382 0180 https://boosty.to/archaeogenetics/donate sponsr.ru/archaeogenetics https://www.donationalerts.com/r/babo...
