The line follower uses the approach sensor to detect the black and white colors in order to move in direction of the line that marks the path. This video is one of the shortest I made, but at the same time I consider that it was one of the hardest. First, I had to find a way to move the car in two directions (right and left) using only one engine. That's why I created a gear system, which took me time. Then, putting the sensor in the proper height so that it was able to recognize the two colors. Also, I noticed that the wheels separation is important to move in the minimum number of angles possible. This way, the detection of the line will be more precise. Finally, I got this result. Although it is not very fast, it works fine. On this video I used the following pieces: Smarthub -- Receives the programming and executes it with the pieces connected to it. Engine -- Produces movement. Approach sensor -- Is able to detect something approaching. This project was made with the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit.
