Dawnavyn is currently a doctoral student at the University of Buffalo researching early childhood and elementary black history and curriculum development. Prior to her move to Buffalo, she taught all Elementary grades in Columbia, Missouri, with kindergarten being her favorite. She has a passion for teaching black history year round, and is the author of Beyond February: Teaching Black History Any Day, Every Day, and All Year Long, K–3.
