Recorded in 1962, and this is the flip side to " Shy Guy". The Crystalettes who previously recorded under the name The Dispoto Sisters, started singing at a very young age, and performed in the Wee Voice group in 1957 (Diana 10,Tina 12,Patty 7 ),and took part in other various singing events during there school years. They performed with the likes of Johnny Mathis, Marth Tilton and many others. They cut there first record as The Dispoto Sisters on Verve 10188 "Whistling Neath' The Mistletoe/ Will Clause" in 1959,a very cute Christmas song. They were two years older and still in perfect harmony. There second release came the following year, on Verve 10202,1960 "Timber" backed by "Let's Have A Party". On this one the song Timber is really very good with an excellent deep back up vocal. This will be the next posting, and I'm sure that you will enjoy it. There next recordings didn't appear till 1962,and by this time they had moved on to the Crystalette record label, which is mentioned in Billboard Magazine (October 27,1962) page 42 add by Crystalette Records. They produce three recordings on this label, there first being "Shy Guy/Please Stay Away" 1962,#752). The second release was "Just Think Of Me /Billy My Billy" #753,1963 ,followed by "I've Got Everything/We're In Love" #755, 1963).I also have them up, with the exception of one side, which I will post to complete the series. There final release came on the Almo International label #210,1964 "Archiblad / If You Don't (Stop Treatin' Me). Even though Archibald is the A side according to the numbers, the B side is a fine example of there singing abilities in pop field.. This is my favorite of the two. There will be a promotional photo with this posting, so that you may see how lovely they appeared. There were two unreleased recording (Sunny / Up, Up and Away), but I do not know for what label they were for or what year. I can only assume that the songs would have been released on Almo International. I think that all in all they had an excellent career in music. There first record on Verve is already up, and you will find some newspaper clippings from there early years. All clippings and photo's, were sent to me by Rye Randa, who's mother is Tina Dispoto. Without these photos and his help I would not have been able to figure that all these recordings were in fact the same singers. The record is mine.
