In this episode, we meet up with friends in Oxford, England, and they give us the grand tour of the colleges, C.S. Lewis' stomping grounds, sights that inspired scenes from Harry Potter, the site of Roger Bannister's record breaking sub-four minute mile and much more! Oxford is a sprawling campus made up of many colleges. Fortunately, we had friends to guide us through the maze so that we could see the highlights of Oxford. First, we came across the track where Roger Bannister became the first person in the world too break the 4-minute mile. Next we traveled to Christ Church College to see the Great Hall that inspired J.K. Rowling's Great Hall at Hogwarts. After we finish at Christ Church, we stumble upon a game of cricket - which we have no idea what the rules are - and continue walking until we come upon The Eagle And The Child. This iconic bar once was the meeting place for the Inklings whose members included J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. At this bar the writers would review each other's work including some of the most revered literature of all time such as The Lord of the Rings. We wrap up our day looking over the doorway that C.S. Lewis passed daily and for which he took inspiration for Aslan and Mr. Tumnus in the Chronicles of Narnia. A few steps away, we recognize the lonely lamppost that Lucy, Peter, Edmund and Susan discover after exiting the wardrobe into Narnia.
