Celtic Fiddle - Misty Shore

This tune came to me earlier this week, as I was practising playing a whistle I bought with some Christmas money last week during the winter sales. I was also keen to record another tune using an electric violin, using some of techniques I discussed in my Electric Violin Series of videos. In this instance, I used an impulse response from my next door neighbours violin, which she gifted to me some years before she passed. I call it my Redgate violin after her name. Combining the Impulse with a great convolution reverb processor from Midas, which is free btw. I got the desired sound I wanted to achieve. This whistle I am playing is a Tony Dixon Low G aluminium whistle, which although at first was quite tricky to tame, I have spent a fair bit of time trying to learn to get a decent sound out of it. Still early days, but hopefully it will improve. Funnily enough, recording the whistle is like falling off a log, extremely simple, in comparison to the violin which is a beast to record imo.
