Its 55-acre Government Botanical Garden lies on the slopes of Doddabetta Peak. Nilgiri Mountain Railway: A historic "Toy Train" that offers a scenic ride through tunnels and over bridges between Mettupalayam and Ooty. Doddabetta Peak: The highest point in the Nilgiris (2,623m), providing panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Government Botanical Garden: A 55-acre garden featuring thousands of exotic and indigenous plants, including a fossilized tree trunk that is 20 million years old. Ooty Lake: An artificial lake built in 1824, popular for boating and its adjacent amusement park.
