Thanks to their efforts—along with the North Dakota Domestic & Sexual Violence Coalition, sister agencies statewide and the North Dakota Supreme Court—survivors no longer have to navigate three separate, often confusing statutes. Instead, one clear protection order now stands in place. This change sharpens definitions under state law and makes orders easier to apply for and enforce, helping survivors find safety more quickly and giving law enforcement stronger tools to protect them—creating safer tomorrows for all of North Dakota.
