This video covers mixing mordant print pastes for use with natural dyes. In this 5-minute tutorial, I show you everything from gathering the necessary materials, including soda ash, aluminum sulfate, guar gum, and white vinegar, to mixing the paste and applying it using various techniques such as painting, screen printing, and block printing. You will also need a few plastic containers (old yogurt containers work really well!), a gram scale, a mask, and gloves. For the dunging process, you will use calcium carbonate and a bucket or some kind of container that you do not use in your kitchen. We also show you how to remove the gum and dye your fabric in the natural dye bath of your choice. Please note that this technique doesn't work with indigo dye. Join us for a step-by-step guide to enhancing your natural dyeing skills and creating beautiful prints on natural fibers! 💜Learn more: https://www.kristinarzt.com/guides-home 🤗Join me in class: https://www.kristinarzt.com/events-wo... ⭐️ Access to my online class library: https://www.kristinarzt.com/online-cl... 🙌🏻 Instagram: / scramblesquilts
