Today is a special journey back to my roots in Zooti Kpota, a beautiful village tucked away in the Vo Prefecture (Maritime Region) of Togo. This wasn't just a drive; it was an experience. We started the day with city vibes and croissants, but the highlight was our stop at the Grand Marché d'Anfoin. Known as one of the most authentic and affordable markets in West Africa, Anfoin is where we stocked up on fresh, organic ingredients to cook a traditional local dish once we reached the village. In this video: The Road Trip: Leaving the city with Mom and Dad. Anfoin Market: A quick, vibrant stop to buy food for our village meal. The Arrival: Pulling into Zooti Kpota and seeing our family house again. The "Vehicle" Moment: Navigating the village terrain under the massive, ancient trees. Going Walking: Exploring the red earth ("Terre de Barre") and the peace of the countryside. About Zooti Kpota & Anfoin: Zooti Kpota is a traditional Ewe village where the community spirit is as rich as the soil. Located near the historic town of Vogan, this area is the heart of southern Togolese culture. Stopping at Anfoin Market is a rite of passage for anyone heading to the village, it’s where you find the freshest peppers, palm oil, and smoked fish that make our Ewe cuisine so iconic.
