More nursing and clinical colleagues are using ‘What Matters Most’ conversations in their everyday practice and initial research shows how it opens up conversation and guides discussions about their wellbeing, care and treatment priorities with the person. This conference will celebrate that best practice across the four nations, it will explore the origins of What Matters conversations, explore how to have a ‘What Matters Conversation, review best practice across health and education in addressing structural inequalities. It will argue the need for a wider social movement to change the narrative and wider structural framework to enable a better understanding of patient rights, needs and wishes.
