Omron is the only company that offers light curtains in 40mm increments. This small increment allows the F3SG-SR to have the correct height for just about any application, as long as the safe sensing distance is achieved. The LED indicators have labels to help identify the issue with that LED. There are a few patters of blinking yellow and blinking red to help maintenance personal quickly troubleshoot and issue and alleviate it. IO Link communication enables both process data (i.e. auxillary output status, muting input status, OSSD output status, etc.) and service data (light curtain settings, internal status information, intelligent tap information) to be communicated to an HMI or other equipment for analysis. The 3 sets of Area Beam Indicators (ABIs) to identify if the light curtains are aligned properly, as well as if there are any obstructions or failures related to the different light transmitters and receivers. Green – Beams are unblocked. Yellow – Check alignment or see if the light curtain is dirty. Red – Beams are blocked. Also, it has built in auto-sense for NPN and PNP to reduce the possibility of miss-wiring outputs The intelligent tap enables saving of the light curtain configuration. This can be copied to other light curtains in the event of replacement or similar application. Instead of having to re-program the light curtain, the settings can be uploaded in seconds. It also enables IO Link communication. No matter the application, we have a light curtain for it. The 30m sensing range shows how strong our transmitters are and are able to be immune to dust and debris. The intelligent tap enables saving of the light curtain configuration. This demo unit consists of the transmitter and receiver with a beam spacing of 20 mm – rated to detect a hand and trip accordingly. Above them resides indicator lights which flick on if the light curtain is tripped. Muting actuators reside below them and’ve been programmed to mute the tripping mechanism when an object comes through with the right timing – simulating product moving down a conveyer. To indicate successful muting, the area beam indicators flash yellow – this can also be programmed to blink an attached LED lamp. If an object is placed into the actuators from above, it fails the programmed timing necessary for muting to occur, and trips the light curtain accordingly – potentially saving merchandise and more importantly avoiding employee injury and with the proper module Bluetooth connectivity to windows devices and android smart phones. Once connected one can utilize SD Manager 3: a powerful tool for monitoring, maintaining and tweaking F3SG light curtains. It is both technically comprehensive and user friendly enabling confidence in even inexperienced users. SD Manager 3 offers real-time information of the connected light curtain – for example the incident light level chart shows beam strength which can tell the operator if a beam is weakened (potentially by dirt or heavy dust) or totally obstructed by a foreign object.
