On the listed date and time, Sgt. Swartz of the Battle Creek Police Department advised that he was in pursuit of Kevin Jacobs. Kevin . Kevin . Kevin, being followed by Sgt. Swartz drove pass my patrol car on Verona Rd and 9-1/2 Mile Rd. I then joined in the pursuit. The pursuit lead up to the northern part of Calhoun County. I attempted the PIT maneuver twice on Kevin, the first time missing, and the second time him regaining control of his vehicle. I attempted a third time at 16 Mile Rd and Junction Rd which was a “T” intersection. This PIT maneuver was successful. As a result, my patrol car was unable to stop on the wet grass, slid into a pond, as the suspect’s vehicle stopped at the edge of the pond. The suspect was taken into custody by Battle Creek PD. The status on the incident remains open, pending patrol car damages.
